Nilgiri Tea

The botanical name of the Nilgiri tea plant is “Camellia sinensis”.
This plant is 1-2 meters tall with many vigrate stems arising from the base of the plant near the ground.
The NILGIRI tea leaves are hard, thick and leathery with a matt surface.
The veins of the leaf are indistinct and appear sunken in lamina.
The leaf blades are elliptic with an obtuse apex; the young leaves are garnet brown in colour.
It has typical malty flavour and bright liquor.
“NILGIRI (Orthodox)” teas are known for their good antioxidant activity
