Palani Panchamirtham

Palani Panchamirtham, produced in large quantities, is used for abhishegam (ritual bathing) of the idol of Lord Dhandayuthapani.

The temple’s origins trace back to Chera King Cheraman Peruman in the 9th century AD.

The idol of Lord Dhandayuthapani is made of navapashana, a blend of medicinal herbs.

When the Panchamirtham rubs against this idol during abhishegam, it acquires healing properties, believed to cure ailments when consumed by devotees.
